It looks like my family may be moving again in a couple of weeks. I've found a fabulous house just a few blocks away that is even better than the house we are in AND I won't have to deal with Realtors' coming through the house whenever they want. I'm so sick of this, I can't wait to have a home again. But, this means that I need to start packing this weekend and guess what I'm doing instead? Yes, I'm on the computer jammin' to some music and writing on my blog! Seriously, I've been working on the mid-month newsletter for SSR and will be sending it out in a few minutes. I wanted to get that done before I head to my craft room and start packing it away.
My son Mitch has decided that he wants to go into law enforcement for his career and feels (right now) that the Army is the way to do that. He'll get the education and training he wants and he really wants to be an MP. I'm not exactly sure how I feel this right now but I'm an Air Force brat and if you've been reading anything about me on SSR or even my blog you'll know that the military is part of my family history and I am proud to know he wants to continue that tradition. I'm scared at the same time as I'm sure he'll end up in Iraq. But, if it's not Iraq it will be some place else as who knows what will happen over the next year and a half. Mitch is 16 1/2 so there is time for him to sign the dotted line yet. I'm encouraging him to do research and talk to as many people as I can find for him to talk to who are in the military. He's definitely not interested in the Navy as he doesn't want to be under water or on a ship. (sorry Ramie). I'm kind of leaning more toward the Air Force for him and I have a contact who is in law enforcement in the Air Force so I'm hoping he will be able to answer some questions for Mitch. But, as long as he puts a lot of thought behind his decision and does the research I will support his decision. At least I have time on my side and he can't come home and announce that he's already signed up. I'm very fortunate that he's actually discussing everything with me and we've had quite a few long conversations over the past few weeks and he's been bringing home lots of reading material. So, we'll see what happens! He may just change his mind and that's okay too.
Alex goes in for his 4 week check up with the Orthopedic surgeon next Friday and we'll see how his arms are healing. They both look so much better and he's feeling much better himself. He's been playing touch football out the back with the neighbor kids after school this past week. Scares the daylights out of me but have you ever tried to strap down an 11 year old boy who just loves all sports? It's like trying to strap down a mexican jumping bean on steroids.
Matt is doing great. He's getting his hair cut this afternoon but he doesn't know that yet
Speaking of haircuts. I cut 4 1/2 inches off my hair this week. Well, I didn't do it, the hairdresser did. It feels so light and it's still shoulder length! I guess I had more hair that I thought!! I have really thick heavy, yet fine hair so the cut has really breathed new life (hehehe) into my hair (yes, I know hair is dead).
Okay, I need to get on with my day. I hope you take a few moments to vote on the poll. I'm really interested in your opinions!!
